What will you be doing!
- Issues Management Leadership
- Leading the implementation and continuous enhancement of an effective Issues Management Program that meets regulatory requirements and business needs, while supporting consistency across all CNL sites through collaboration with ImpAct Coordinators.
- Supporting the management of Issues Management resources, including personnel, budgets, performance plans, and annual work planning activities.
- Implementing and improving SMARTER corrective action processes, procedures, and issue resolution expectations, while developing performance indicators in partnership with the Manager, Issues Management.
- Collaborating with the Manager, Issues Management, to develop, adapt, and enhance processes and procedures that align with organizational objectives and operating standards.
- Supporting the establishment of annual departmental goals and performance measures while monitoring and tracking team progress against targets.
- Ensuring the quality, reliability, and traceability of DevonWay data, reports, and associated records.
- Analyzing data trends and anticipating the need for corrective actions or course corrections to address emerging risks, adverse performance trends, and issue resolution challenges.
- Leading continuous improvements to Rapid Learning, Dedicated Screening Team (DST), Management Review Meeting (MRM), and Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) processes and deliverables, while addressing stakeholder feedback and inquiries.
- Deploying innovative tools and solutions to automate Issues Management monitoring, reporting, and performance tracking activities.
- Transforming Issues Management data into clear, concise, and actionable insights that support informed decision-making across the organization.
- Collecting, organizing, monitoring, and distributing Issues Management information to support program effectiveness and stakeholder awareness.
- Implementing Issues Management program requirements and ensuring adherence to established expectations.
- Conducting assessments to evaluate, administer, and enhance program effectiveness with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Monitoring and measuring qualitative and quantitative performance indicators to assess process effectiveness and information quality.
- Supporting, advising, and coaching ImpAct Coordinators across all CNL sites in root cause analysis, fact-finding investigations, and the development of effective SMARTER corrective actions, while strengthening organizational capability through mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- People Leadership
- Leading, training, and supervising a team of approximately three specialists and coordinators to achieve program objectives within established cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Ensuring the availability of qualified, trained personnel by anticipating resource needs and recommending solutions to address shifting priorities and workloads.
- Promoting employee growth through career development, succession planning, talent management, and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Establishing individual performance objectives and measures in collaboration with the Manager, Issues Management, while providing regular feedback, coaching, and support to drive successful outcomes.
- Guiding and coaching employees on regulatory, corporate, and program requirements to ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality Issues Management services.

What we are looking for
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Management, Engineering, Project Management, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline. An equivalent combination of education and relevant qualifications may be considered.
- Experience
- Minimum of 7 years in assessments, causal analysis, change management, software quality assurance, corrective action and improvement initiative management, and effectiveness reviews.
- Leading root cause analyses and issue investigations that support organizational learning and performance improvement.
- Facilitating ImpAct screening meetings, MRMs, CARB meetings, and other governance forums.
- Managing software upgrade and modernization initiatives, including the replacement of legacy systems with modern technologies.
- Supporting organizational change management activities associated with process and technology improvements.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of Issues Management programs, including issue resolution and investigation, SMARTER corrective actions, effectiveness reviews, causal analysis, organizational learning, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to promote and embed a culture of performance excellence, questioning attitude, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, coach, train, and coordinate teams in a collaborative environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while providing sound recommendations and insights to management.
- Ability to lead resource optimization and improve the effectiveness of processes, tools, and team performance.
- Strong knowledge of software quality assurance practices, software upgrades, and associated change management principles.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data-driven insights using software tools such as DevonWay.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, prioritize, and escalate issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to remain professional, composed, and effective when managing conflict or challenging situations.
- Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to influence outcomes and support internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Knowledge of governance and review processes, including management reviews, corrective action review boards, dedicated screening teams, and associated reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of software tools and systems that support issues management, reporting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom . CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions
Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
