Job Description
The Airbus Canada Tooling Department is seeking a Tooling Specialist to design, provide, and maintain equipment needed for the Final Assembly Lines (FAL) of the A220 Commercial Aircraft Program. The role is based in Mirabel, Quebec, and supports production sites in Mirabel and Mobile, Alabama.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead a team of technical planners specialized in tooling estimation and purchasing.
- Distribute workload and foster technical skill development within the team.
- Develop ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) and delivery lead times for new projects to provide reliable budget estimates from the feasibility phase.
- Manage the strategic purchase contract for tooling, ensuring compliance with commercial and technical clauses.
- Drive supplier relationships by monitoring critical milestones for each project.
- Guarantee delivery deadlines and implement action plans in case of deviations.
- Define, extract, and analyze KPIs related to cost compliance, on‑time delivery, and tooling quality.
- Write periodic activity reports for management.
- Manage financial resources allocated to a project to keep spending within budget while meeting objectives.
- Collaborate closely with methods, finance, procurement, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Interpret, understand, and comply with technical plans and specifications.
- Lead multi‑departmental meetings and ensure employee engagement.
- Find solutions for various issues encountered during the project.
- Present project progress reports.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in mechanical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Specialization in product design, industrial project management, or tooling is an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial sector or a similar business manager role.
- Experience with planning, monitoring, managing deadlines and costs, and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in team coordination or cross‑functional project management.
- Ability to work with external suppliers and oversee manufacturing and assembly of equipment.
- Strong organizational skills, rigor, and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
