UHN Part-Time ECG Technician Role
UHN Research
Join UHN as a part-time ECG Technician in Laboratory Medicine. Deliver patient-centered care through ECGs and specimen management across all shifts at Canada's leading hospital. UHN is seeking a part-time technician for its Laboratory Medicine Program, which processes over 30 million tests annually. You will perform ECGs and venipuncture while managing specimens effectively. Ideal candidates have robust laboratory experience, including proficiency in operating equipment and understanding safety procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ECGs and venipuncture on patients
- Manage and process laboratory specimens accurately
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Document procedures using hospital information systems
- Train new staff in laboratory protocols
- Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent
- Post-secondary Laboratory Technician or Assistant certification
- Minimum one year of experience in laboratory settings
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and operation
- Effective communication skills required
