Vice President of Data Engineering at PICTON

PICTON Investments

Toronto, ON

Lead PICTON Investments' data strategy as Vice President of Data Engineering. Define AI-native solutions while managing complex financial data across all business units. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will be accountable for architecture, governance, and engineering capabilities. You'll set the direction for our AI-driven data initiatives that enhance decision-making and innovation. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Investment, Product, and AI teams to build a modern data foundation that supports actionable insights. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute enterprise data strategy and architecture
  • Serve as accountable owner for data across PICTON's businesses
  • Own technical build for AI roadmap implementation
  • Lead design of reliable data pipelines using AI tools
  • Build and lead a high-performing Data Engineering team
Requirements:
  • Over 10 years in data engineering and technology leadership
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, and APIs
  • Proven ability to balance competing business needs
  • Familiarity with financial and investment data
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools in workflows
