Affirm is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to enhance its Online Storage team. You'll architect and scale solutions using MySQL and TiDB while executing zero-downtime migrations. This role demands expertise in distributed databases and an ability to drive projects collaboratively with peers. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and operate large-scale distributed SQL databases
- Design and execute schema migrations without downtime
- Own the networking stack and optimize for performance
- Lead engineers through project goals and challenges
- Collaborate with product management and stakeholders during development
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, AWS, and Kubernetes
- In-depth knowledge of SQL performance optimization
- Experience with database automation in production
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking and failover
