Senior Software Engineer Backend at Affirm

This role involves working with relational and distributed SQL databases, ensuring mission-critical data is stored and analyzed efficiently. You will influence your team’s roadmap while collaborating closely with peers and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

Architect and scale relational and distributed SQL databases
Automate provisioning, failover, backups, and upgrades
Execute reliability-focused schema and data migrations
Own the networking stack connecting services to storage
Foster a culture of quality through code review standards

Requirements:

5+ years of software engineering experience
Expertise in MySQL and TiDB preferred
Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking
Proven background in zero-downtime migrations
Excellent communication skills for global collaboration
