Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Program Lead plays a key role in supporting the continuous improvement of material availability and cross-functional communication across procurement-related processes. This role focuses on identifying systemic issues that impact the timely flow of materials, analyzing production risks, and recommending process improvements to drive operational efficiency. The Lead acts as a communication bridge across internal functions, such as production, planning, and supply chain, without assuming any direct supervisory or purchasing responsibilities. This position supports high-level visibility into material readiness and production continuity, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Risk Identification & Communication
- Monitor production and material readiness data to proactively identify trends and gaps impacting schedule adherence.
- Flag high-risk items or recurring constraints to the Procurement Manager and other stakeholders for resolution.
- Maintain visibility tools (dashboards, trackers) to support transparency across teams.
- Cross-Functional Liaison
- Facilitate communication between departments (e.g., production, planning, procurement, and quality) to align shared priorities.
- Support coordination of resolution efforts related to part availability without assigning or directing tasks to union employees.
- Attend planning and readiness meetings to gather insights and share relevant updates from procurement.
- Process Support & Documentation
- Document systemic issues impacting supply flow and participate in root cause analysis sessions when appropriate.
- Recommend workflow related improvements to cross-functional processes that affect procurement cycle times.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of procurement-related procedures, tools, and escalation paths.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in manufacturing support, supply chain coordination, or program analysis role.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFS, or D365).
- Strong data interpretation skills, especially relating to production and inventory metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally without formal authority or direct supervision of others.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Power BI or similar tools is an asset.
- Ability to interpret planning documents and material availability reports; no direct purchasing or inventory control responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification or coursework in supply chain management or business analytics.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Understanding of change management and communication best practices.
