Superintendent (Quebec)

Superintendent (Quebec) EllisDon is seeking an experienced Superintendent to manage construction projects in Quebec.

Responsibilities

Provide overall construction management including design, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager, Subcontractors, and Owners.

Manage work on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.

Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels, material quantities, and ensure proper equipment and trades are available.

Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing progression.

Advise the Project Manager and senior management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problems.

Manage the work activities of direct reports and administrative documentation as required (safety, communication LEMs).

Plan and implement site logistics (layout, trailers, access, storage, erosion and sediment controls, waste management).

Identify technical challenges and solutions to the project structure and envelope working with the Construction Sciences department.

Set up site office (temporary power, water, heating).

Qualifications

5-8 years of experience in construction management.

Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software.

ICI construction experience.

Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.

Ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions, and lead a large team to successful completion.

Strong scheduling experience with a proven ability to develop, maintain, and execute both long-term and short-term schedules.

Understanding of the Building Code and local bylaws.

Understanding prime contract requirements and types of subcontract agreements (design-build, design assist, lump sum, contract management, and P3).

Salary The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $145,000.
