Course Description: This course offers a transnational perspective on prisons and abolition movements. Combining feminist approaches to carceral studies, psychology, and phenomenology, it centres human subjective experiences within – and in opposition to – local and global configurations of the prison industrial complex.

Minimum Qualifications :  Completed Ph.D. with a scholarly background in areas related to the specific course required.

Preferred Qualifications :  Relevant lived experience and a blend of expertise in carceral studies and psychology as well as an emphasis on feminist abolition and global comparative approaches to carceral violence.

Description of Duties :

• Preparing the syllabus, reading list and lecture materials

• Delivering lectures

• Developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests and final assessments

• Holding regular office hours

• Communicating with students via email and Quercus
