At Orange Lily Group , our vision is to create nourished and inspired communities . We specialize in providing expert nutrition and culinary advisory services to long term care (LTC) homes across Ontario through a diverse and inclusive team. We are looking to welcome a Regional Culinary Resource Consultant to our team to support excellence in food service and resident care.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Culinary Operations , the Culinary Resource Consultant will conduct site visits to client LTC homes as assigned. This is an independent contractor position suited for a passionate and experienced food service professional who values excellent team work.
Hours: 42 hours/month
Location: On-Site
Compensation: Industry competitive and commensurate based on experience, plus mileage
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits across the designated region with timely and complete reporting
- Assist with developing and/or facilitating short education sessions according to schedules
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Culinary Operations
Qualifications
- Minimum certification in Hospitality Management, Food and Nutrition Management, or formal Chef Training
- Understand kitchen workflow, staffing, inventory and procurement to identify inefficiencies, waste, and implement change for improvement
- Understanding of cooking techniques, menu planning, food safety and sanitation, and specialized diets
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support food service teams in a collaborative and respectful manner
- Strong computer skills with the ability to use standard office and industry–related software effectively
- Detail‑oriented and accountable for completing work accurately and within the allotted time
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and competing priorities
- Experience in long‑term care (LTC) food service operations is considered a strong asset
