Healthcare Security Officers (Casual) Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital

Site Description: The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital offers medical specialty services, including anesthesia, dentistry, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pathology, and pediatrics.

Position Details:

Position: Casual Security Guard

Site: Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital

Overtime (OT): OT after 48 hours

Hours: As required

Pay Rate: $19.67/hour

Posting Date: July 6, 2026

External Closing Date: July 31, 2026

Schedule: As needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol hospital grounds, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems; report suspicious activity immediately.
  • Control access to restricted areas and ensure only authorized individuals enter.
  • Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, security threats, and evacuations.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, patients, and staff and enforcing hospital policies.
  • De-escalate conflicts and handle interactions professionally.
  • Complete accurate reports regarding incidents, accidents, breaches, and daily activities.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement to maintain a safe environment.
  • Enforce hospital visitor, patient, and security protocols.

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (CSA-approved vendor).
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
  • Proof of completion of required childhood/primary vaccinations.
  • One dose of Tdap vaccine after age 18.
  • Tdap booster required every 10 years.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and willingness to work shifts at sites within reasonable driving distance.
  • English fluency (oral and written).
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
  • Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) required.

Applicants without UOF/MOAB certifications may complete Paladin’s pre-hire training program before onboarding. The training is unpaid because it is a job prerequisite; however, Paladin covers all training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position and availability requirements.
