Medical Laboratory Technician - St. Catharines location

Overview

A community–based laboratory located in the GTA is looking for a CSMLS/MLPAO certified Medical Laboratory Technician to work in a specimen collection centre. This position is available on a full‑time or part‑time basis (30‑35 hours) or Saturday shifts at the specimen collection centre.

Qualifications & Experience

• Excellent skills in performing venipuncture and ECG.
• CSMLS/MLPAO – MLA/T certification in good standing, hands‑on leadership with a passion for quality patient care.
• Excellent skills managing day‑to‑day specimen processing (Pre‑Analytical) in accordance with accepted laboratory standards and established policies & procedures.
• Competent in problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• Knowledge & skills: LIS operation with excellent data entry speed and general computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent professional communication skills (written & verbal) for customer service, client relationships, documentation, and new process development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire professional teamwork, interacting effectively with all levels of staff for positive outcomes.
• Valid driver’s license; a car is an asset.

Schedule

• 8‑hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Location

St. Catharines, ON – must be able to commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

Experience & Certification

• Medical Laboratory Technician experience: 1 year (required).
• Licence/Certification: MLPAO or CSMLS (preferred).
