Hello! We are a family located in Stony Plain, Alberta, and we are looking for a reliable and engaging human to become an honorary member of our family! Our primary needs are for someone awesome to provide hand-on, play-based care for our two boys aged 1.5 & 3. This position is part-time and flexible as I primarily work from home, with a minimum of 2 weekdays per week and the odd evening here and there. There may be some fluctuation in weekly hours depending on my workload and any changes to the schedule will always be communicated well in advance. We value an environment that enriches our children, playing alongside them without screens and having the ability to get silly imaginative is important to us. We embrace messy, explorative play both indoors or outdoors, so we need somebody who is comfortable taking kiddos outdoors in all weather conditions. Keeping the main living spaces tidy and putting away toys or activities when finished with them is all that's required for housework. All meals and snacks will be prepped in advance for you making meal times easy. Our kids are learning how to be tiny humans in this big world, so you must be a source of patience and encouragement for them. Note: We are not anti-screen time by any means, but we do try to prioritize reading playing above all. You are not permitted to be on your phone scrolling, however, we welcome googling questions they may ask that you need to find an answer to or sharing photos of your life outside of hanging out with them. TV and movies are saved for low-energy days, extremely poor weather, or as a 30-minute quiet time during the day. You must be comfortable caring for children with severe allergies that may require an epi-pen. First aid CPR certifications as well as any child related education are considered valuable assets. We offer a starting wage of $18 per hour, which can be negotiated for the right candidate and/or relative certifications/education related to childcare.
