Financial Analyst on City Budget Team
The Corporation of The City of St. Thomas
Manage advanced financial analysis as a Senior Financial Analyst for the City of St. Thomas. This role offers you a chance to make a significant impact on municipal budgeting and financial sustainability initiatives. As a full-time position reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide strategic support for budget development and financial planning. The role encompasses preparing forecasts, conducting financial evaluations, and developing analytical reporting tools to support decision-making processes across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the budget process through financial forecasting and analysis
- Coordinate departmental submissions for compliance and accuracy
- Prepare scenario analyses and support financial recommendations
- Support corporate financial projects with analytical insights
- Conduct research to address emerging municipal issues
- Degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA designation completed
- Minimum of five years in financial planning and budgeting
- Advanced skills in spreadsheets and financial modeling
- Communicate complex data to technical and non-technical groups
