Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine the layout and configuration of welding work
- Ensure that all welding work meets industry standards and regulations, as well as company quality standards
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques based on the materials being used
- Perform welding work using a variety of techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Inspect completed welds for defects and make necessary repairs
- Clean and maintain welding equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as fabricators and fitters, to complete welding projects
- Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Proficient in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Knowledge of welding safety procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment and tools
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
