Responsibilities:
- Conducting inspections of welded joints and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Documenting inspection results and communicating them to relevant parties
- Reviewing welding procedures and ensuring they meet industry standards
- Identifying and addressing defects or deviations in welding processes
- Providing guidance and support to welders and other personnel involved in welding operations
- Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure welding specifications are met
- Staying up-to-date with industry developments and changes in welding technologies and techniques
- Participating in audits and quality control processes to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification preferred
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledgeable in welding codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, and API
- Ability to use various types of inspection equipment such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and x-ray
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-conformities
- Excellent communication skills to report findings and work collaboratively with production teams
- Willingness to travel to different job sites and work flexible hours as needed
