A welder is a skilled tradesperson who joins metal pieces together using various welding techniques such as arc welding, gas welding, and resistance welding. Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding operations in accordance with industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints in order to plan and execute welding projects.
  • Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welders.
  • Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in clean and safe condition.
  • Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to complete welding projects on time and within budget.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding problems and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least two years of experience in welding or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in using welding equipment and tools such as MIG, TIG, and stick welders
  • Ability to work with various metals and alloys
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
