A Walkie Operator operates handheld pallet jacks to transport and retrieve materials efficiently and safely within a warehouse or distribution center. Responsible for loading/unloading goods, organizing merchandise, utilizing warehouse management systems, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maneuver a walkie machine in a safe and efficient manner
- Load and unload materials onto and from the walkie machine
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using the walkie machine
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on the walkie machine to ensure it is in good working condition
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
- Keep accurate records of materials transported and tasks completed using the walkie machine
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating the walkie machine
- Assist in other warehouse tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Valid walkie operation certification or equivalent
- Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand and walk for long hours
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to them
- Flexibility to work in different shifts and weekends if required
- Experience in operating other warehouse equipment is a plus
