The position of a waiter requires individuals to provide top-notch service, take food and drink orders, and deliver orders to patrons. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring a seamless dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Take orders and serve food and beverages to customers
- Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
- Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
- Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
- Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience
- Prepare tables and dining areas for new customers, including setting up silverware, glasses, and linens
- Assist with cleaning and resetting tables as needed
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tables at once
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu and ability to make recommendations to customers
- Experience with POS systems and ability to accurately process orders and payments
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work as part of a team and assist coworkers as needed
