The VMware engineer is an expert in virtualized infrastructure who designs, implements, and maintains VMware-based systems. They are accountable for installing and configuring software, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring overall system stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain virtual infrastructure based on VMware technologies
  • Install, configure, and upgrade VMware vSphere and related components
  • Provide technical support to internal customers for all VMware-related technologies
  • Create and maintain documentation for VMware infrastructure and operational procedures
  • Monitor and troubleshoot VMware infrastructure and performance issues
  • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate VMware infrastructure with other technologies
  • Research and evaluate new VMware products and technologies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical issues outside of business hours

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in VMware engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere and related technologies
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain virtualization solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with VMware automation and scripting languages, such as PowerCLI and Python
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with VMware vSAN and NSX is a plus
  • VMware certifications, such as VCP or VCAP, are highly desirable
