A Tug Driver is a skilled professional responsible for maneuvering and operating tugboats to assist other vessels in navigation. Mastering intricate harbor movements, they tow and assist ships safely, maintain logs and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maneuver tugboats to move barges and other vessels in and out of docks and harbors
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo from barges and ships
  • Maintain tugboat equipment and perform routine maintenance checks
  • Monitor radio and other communication channels to ensure safety and efficiency of vessel movements
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Complete required paperwork and logs accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with other crew members and port personnel
  • Be available for on-call and emergency situations as needed

Requirements:
