Responsibilities:
- Drive trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to their destination
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and products
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with regulations
- Keep accurate records of hours worked, miles driven, fuel consumption, and other important data
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers on the road
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Manage and maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving a commercial truck
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, such as bills of lading and delivery orders
- Physically fit and able to handle loading and unloading of cargo, as well as perform routine maintenance on the vehicle
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and long distances as required by the job
