A truck driver operates commercial vehicles to transport goods or materials between locations. They are responsible for safe transportation, monitoring assigned routes, maintaining delivery records, and adhering to road safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to different locations
  • Load and unload cargo from the truck using equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts
  • Plan and follow routes using GPS, maps, and other tools to ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform regular maintenance and repairs
  • Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using two-way radios, cell phones, and other communication devices
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations and follow company policies and procedures
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and invoices
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or violations to the appropriate authorities and company officials

Requirements:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a good driving record
  • Ability to operate and maintain different types of trucks
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel long distances
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects
  • Experience in loading and unloading cargo
  • Ability to navigate using GPS and maps
