Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, ensuring accuracy and quality of work
- Cut, shape and trim tiles to fit around obstacles and in tight spaces using hand and power cutting tools
- Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning and leveling them, and applying waterproofing and adhesive materials
- Install tiles by laying them in a predetermined pattern, ensuring consistency in spacing and alignment
- Grout tiles by filling in gaps between tiles with grout and removing excess to achieve a smooth finish
- Inspect and repair installed tiles to correct any defects or issues
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other professionals to determine tile selection, design, and placement
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations when working on job sites, and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in tile installation
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of tile cutting tools and techniques
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy of measurements and cuts
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to learn and keep up with new tile installation techniques and trends
