Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to standard recipes and menu specifications
- Assist other cooks and kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
- Ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of food items
- Monitor food inventory and notify the head chef or kitchen manager when supplies are running low
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food, use of personal protective equipment, and safe use of kitchen equipment
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager
Requirements:
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare menu items accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Experience in working as a cook or kitchen assistant in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior cooks and chefs.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
