Responsibilities:
- Conduct aerial surveys of land, water, and other natural resources, using aircraft equipped with specialized cameras and sensing equipment
- Plan and coordinate survey missions, including flight routes, altitude, and timing, to ensure accurate data collection
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust flight plans as necessary to ensure safe and effective survey operations
- Analyze survey data using computer software and other tools to produce detailed maps, charts, and reports for clients and stakeholders
- Maintain and repair aircraft and equipment, including performing routine inspections and addressing any mechanical issues that arise
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols, including maintaining appropriate licenses and certifications
- Collaborate with other survey team members, including ground crews, analysts, and project managers, to ensure efficient and effective survey operations
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide updates on survey progress and results
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Pilot's License with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings
- Minimum flight experience of 1000 hours
- Proficiency in operating survey equipment and software
- Ability to fly in adverse weather conditions and at low altitudes
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with ground crew and clients
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of long flights and sitting for extended periods of time
