Spotter Drivers manage the movement of trucks and trailers in logistics hubs, ensuring efficient loading and unloading. Responsibilities include coordinating with dock staff, maintaining vehicle safety, and adhering to traffic regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate spotter truck to move trailers in and out of loading docks
- Ensure that all trailers are properly aligned and positioned in loading docks
- Communicate with truck drivers and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer movements
- Perform spotter duties in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain and inspect spotter truck to ensure it is in good working condition
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team
- Assist with loading and unloading of trailers as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Requirements:
- Ability to drive a variety of vehicles, including large trucks and heavy machinery
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with other workers
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to follow safety protocols and regulations
- Experience in construction or industrial settings is a plus
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects if needed
