Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations
- Provide quality patient care during the imaging process
- Ensure the proper operation of imaging equipment and maintain records of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Interact with patients and medical staff to obtain necessary information for diagnostic procedures
- Analyze technical information obtained during the diagnostic process and provide preliminary findings to physicians
- Monitor patients' health and safety during the imaging process
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
- Stay current on technological advancements in the field of sonography and participate in continuing education to maintain certification
Requirements:
- Minimum education of an Associate's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Experience working with ultrasound equipment and interpreting results
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Familiarity with medical software and electronic health records systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
