A Shipper oversees the accurate and efficient packaging and dispatching of goods to customers. Responsibilities include inventory management, order fulfillment, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments in an accurate and timely manner
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange for transportation of goods
- Ensure all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork, is completed correctly
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality
- Communicate with internal departments, including purchasing and production, to ensure inventory levels are maintained
- Identify and troubleshoot any shipping or delivery issues that arise
- Keep shipping area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
- Physical ability to lift, move and stack heavy packages
- Familiarity with shipping software and computer systems
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with other departments and clients
- Flexibility in working hours and schedules
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures
