Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against the purchase orders.
- Inspect and document any damages or discrepancies and report them to the supervisor.
- Ensure that all shipments are properly labeled and stored in the designated areas.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including proper labeling and documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Keep accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate equipment such as forklifts
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including inventory management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with computer systems and software used for tracking shipments and inventory
- Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional local deliveries
