Responsibilities:
- Operate semi-trucks to transport goods and materials to various destinations
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns before and after trips
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while driving and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using various communication devices
- Maintain accurate logs and records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other related data
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations, and report any major repairs needed
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo, and secure it using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience of at least 2 years in driving similar vehicles
- Ability to operate and maintain semi-trucks and trailers
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning the transportation of goods
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy loads
- Flexibility to work long hours and travel long distances
- Ability to adapt to different weather conditions and work schedules.
