Responsibilities:
- Conduct seismic surveys using specialized equipment
- Record and interpret seismic data to identify potential oil and gas reservoirs
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to analyze seismic data
- Communicate findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while conducting seismic surveys
- Travel to remote locations to conduct seismic surveys
- Train and mentor junior seismic observers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
- -3 years of experience as a seismic observer or in a related field.
- Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques.
- Proficient in the use of seismic data acquisition software and equipment such as geophones, seismographs, and GPS.
- Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods of time and in adverse weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other members of the seismic team and clients.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, to meet project deadlines.
