A security guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for people, properties, and assets. They monitor and protect against theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Watch alarms and video cameras to detect suspicious or criminal behavior.
- Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Investigate suspicious activities and report incidents to appropriate authorities.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement is required.
- Must possess a valid security guard license or be willing to obtain one.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the public and staff.
- Physical fitness and agility are required to perform patrols and respond to emergencies.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills are necessary to assess and respond to potential security threats.
- Must be able to follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle pressure and remain calm in stressful situations is essential.
