Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the vessel
- Ensure the safety of the crew and passengers on board
- Operate and maintain navigational equipment, such as radar and GPS
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vessel
- Stand watch and keep lookout for other vessels, obstacles, and hazards
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including emergency drills
- Attend to medical emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid seafarer's medical certificate
- Must have completed Basic Safety Training and possess a certificate for it
- Must have completed Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats and possess a certificate for it
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Must have experience in shipboard operations and maintenance
- Must have knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Must be able to work in a team and follow orders from superiors
- Must be willing to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time
