A Router Operator oversees the operation of computer-controlled machines, ensuring precise cutting of materials. Responsibilities include programming, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control. Expertise in CNC programming and machine operation is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and maintain router machines to perform precision cutting and shaping of materials according to specifications.
- Select and install appropriate router bits and adjust machine settings to achieve desired results.
- Inspect and measure finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to the machine as needed.
- Keep track of inventory levels of raw materials and inform supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when operating machinery.
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience in operating routers or similar machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of different types of materials and their appropriate cutting speeds and feeds
- Physical dexterity and ability to stand for long periods of time
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in cutting dimensions
- Familiarity with basic maintenance of machinery and ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet production deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
