As a rolling mill operator, you'll oversee the machinery used to shape metal products. You'll need experience in rolling mill operations, mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to excel in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Operate rolling mills to roll metal products to specific dimensions, gauge, and finish
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine setup requirements
- Control and adjust the speed and feed of the rolling mill to ensure quality production
- Monitor and inspect the rolling process to detect defects and adjust the equipment as necessary
- Perform routine maintenance on rolling mill equipment, including cleaning and lubricating
- Use hand and power tools to change and align rolls, and repair or replace equipment parts
- Coordinate with other operators and production staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements:
- - Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
- - Should have prior experience in operating rolling mills or similar heavy machinery.
- - Should be able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- - Must have a strong understanding of safety protocols and be able to adhere to them at all times.
