As a rolling mill operator, you'll oversee the machinery used to shape metal products. You'll need experience in rolling mill operations, mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to excel in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate rolling mills to roll metal products to specific dimensions, gauge, and finish
  • Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine setup requirements
  • Control and adjust the speed and feed of the rolling mill to ensure quality production
  • Monitor and inspect the rolling process to detect defects and adjust the equipment as necessary
  • Perform routine maintenance on rolling mill equipment, including cleaning and lubricating
  • Use hand and power tools to change and align rolls, and repair or replace equipment parts
  • Coordinate with other operators and production staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Requirements:

  • - Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • - Should have prior experience in operating rolling mills or similar heavy machinery.
  • - Should be able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • - Must have a strong understanding of safety protocols and be able to adhere to them at all times.
  • - Should be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in hot and noisy environments.
