Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft during the relief flight
- Complete all pre-flight planning and checks in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust flight plan accordingly
- Communicate effectively with air traffic control and ground crew
- Assist the captain in all aspects of the flight, including takeoff, landing, and emergency procedures
- Keep accurate records of flight time and fuel usage
- Continuously assess and manage risk during the flight
- Stay current with all regulatory updates and industry best practices related to relief flying
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid commercial pilot's license and have at least 1,500 hours of flight time.
- Must have experience flying the specific type of aircraft that the company operates.
- Must be able to work on short notice and be flexible with scheduling.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other pilots and crew members.
- Must have a strong commitment to safety and follow all FAA regulations and company policies.
- Must be physically fit and able to meet the physical requirements for the job, including long hours of sitting and possible exposure to high altitudes and extreme temperatures.
