Pump Operators manage the operation of single or multiple pumps for transferring liquids, gases, and powdered materials. Responsibilities include monitoring gauges, adjusting pump speeds, and performing routine maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Pump and monitor the flow of liquids and gases through pipelines and tanks.
- Operate control valves and other equipment to regulate the flow of products.
- Maintain and repair pumps, valves, and other equipment as needed.
- Monitor meters, gauges, and other instruments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Keep accurate records of pump operations, maintenance activities, and other relevant information.
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that equipment is operated safely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with equipment or operations.
- Communicate with other operators and supervisors to coordinate work activities and ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Previous experience in pump operation would be an advantage
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of basic maintenance and troubleshooting
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Willingness to comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
