Plaster applicators, also known as plasterers, apply plaster coatings to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. They are responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying plaster, and ensuring a smooth and seamless finish. Tasks include leveling, sanding, and repairing damaged areas for a flawless end result.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces according to blueprints, drawings, and written instructions.
  • Mix plaster and other materials to the right consistency and texture for the job.
  • Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning and smoothing them, and applying bonding agents and other materials.
  • Use trowels, brushes, and other tools to apply plaster and finish surfaces to the desired texture and appearance.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Work with other tradespeople and contractors on construction sites to coordinate work and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate with clients and project managers to provide updates on progress and address any concerns or issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • Experience in applying various types of plaster, including cement, lime, and acrylic
  • Knowledge of plastering tools and equipment, and the ability to use them safely and efficiently
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Physical fitness and manual dexterity, with the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites
