Responsibilities:

  • Monitor timber sales and contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to optimize financial returns
  • Provide technical advice and support to other departments and stakeholders on forest management issues
  • Conduct research and collect data to inform forest management decisions and improve practices
  • Develop budgets and manage expenditures to ensure effective use of resources
  • Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to advance forest management practices and achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resources, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in forest planning, inventory, and management
  • Strong knowledge of forest ecology, silviculture, and forest management practices
  • Proficiency in GIS, remote sensing, and other forest inventory and mapping tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, and to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and varied weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently for fieldwork
