Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine layout of pipes, valves, and fixtures
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting, threading, and welding
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes using hand and power tools
- Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
- Test piping systems for leaks and make necessary repairs
- Collaborate with other construction workers, such as electricians and carpenters, to complete projects
- Follow safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries
- Keep tools and equipment organized and maintained in good condition
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipefitting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Proficiency in welding and brazing techniques
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Experience with various types of materials and piping systems
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
