An Outfitter coordinates outdoor adventure experiences, ensuring safety and enjoyment for participants. Responsibilities include equipment preparation, route planning, and providing expert guidance on outdoor survival techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate outdoor gear and equipment
  • Provide expert advice on outdoor activities and destinations
  • Ensure all inventory is well-stocked and organized for easy access
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition for use
  • Process sales transactions and handle cash and credit card payments
  • Assist with store merchandising and promotional events
  • Attend product training sessions to stay up-to-date on new equipment and gear

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing
  • Experience in customer service and sales
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and first-aid procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education in outdoor recreation or related field preferred
