An OSS Engineer oversees the operational support systems (OSS) of a telecom network, ensuring seamless functionality. Responsibilities include system design, software installation, troubleshooting, and network performance monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain OSS/BSS solutions for telecommunications networks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment and integration of OSS/BSS systems
  • Perform system troubleshooting and issue resolution to ensure optimal system performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user manuals for OSS/BSS systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements to ensure the OSS/BSS systems are meeting business needs
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new OSS/BSS projects
  • Provide support and training to end-users on the OSS/BSS systems
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for OSS/BSS systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in OSS engineering
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Experience with OSS tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and Prometheus
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
