As an operating room technologist, you'll play a key role in ensuring that surgeries are successful and patients receive the best possible care. You'll work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to prepare the operating room, sterilize equipment, and assist during surgery. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the operating room by ensuring that all equipment and supplies are sterilized and properly arranged
- Assist the surgical team during the operation by passing instruments, sponges, and other items as required
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and provide support to ensure their physical and emotional comfort during the operation
- Ensure that all surgical tools and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after the operation
- Update patient records and maintain accurate documentation of the surgical procedure
Requirements:
- Minimum of an associate's degree in surgical technology or related field
- Certification as a surgical technologist through an accredited program
- At least 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
- Ability to anticipate and respond quickly to surgeon's needs during surgical procedures
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and instruments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
