Offshore Pipefitters specialize in assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems aboard oil rigs and ships. Responsibilities encompass reading blueprints, installing pipes, and conducting system tests for leaks.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of the piping system.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to fit the design of the system using hand and power tools.
- Install, align, and secure pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to the specifications of the design.
- Test piping systems for leaks and malfunctions using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other methods.
- Repair and replace damaged or malfunctioning pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders and electricians, to complete the installation of the piping system.
- Maintain a safe and clean worksite, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in offshore pipefitting or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools required for pipefitting.
- Familiarity with various piping materials and their installation techniques.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices specific to offshore environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Physical ability to work long hours in challenging conditions, including at heights and in confined spaces.
- Willingness to travel and work on offshore rigs for extended periods of time.
