An offshore crane operator is responsible for operating cranes on offshore platforms and vessels to lift and move heavy equipment and materials. They must have knowledge of safety regulations and be able to work in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate offshore cranes safely and efficiently
  • Conduct daily pre-operational checks on the crane and ensure any faults are reported and corrected
  • Inspect rigging and slings to ensure they are in good condition and properly attached to the load
  • Communicate with the crane supervisor and other personnel on deck to ensure loads are lifted and moved safely
  • Ensure that all crane operations are performed in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations
  • Keep accurate records of all crane operations and maintenance activities
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to maintain and improve skills and knowledge
  • Assist in other duties as required by the crane supervisor or management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating offshore cranes
  • Valid offshore crane operator certification
  • Ability to work in harsh weather conditions and on rotating shifts
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for offshore operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy loads
  • Experience working with different types of cranes and rigging equipment
