Non-Destructive Testing Technicians evaluate the physical properties of materials without causing damage. Responsibilities include conducting tests, interpreting data, and maintaining equipment, ensuring structural integrity and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials, components, and assemblies
- Perform a variety of NDT techniques such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Document and maintain accurate records of test results and inspection reports
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and customers to resolve any NDT-related issues
- Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Stay up-to-date with new NDT technologies and techniques through training and professional development
- Provide training and guidance to junior NDT technicians and other personnel as needed
Requirements:
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training program
- Certification in one or more NDT methods such as Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), or Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of NDT and the ability to interpret and evaluate test results
- Experience with the use and maintenance of NDT equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety and quality
