As a Network Operations Center Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining the smooth functioning of an organization's network infrastructure. You'll monitor network traffic, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that all systems are running at optimal performance levels. Responsibilities:
- Monitor network systems and infrastructure for performance and availability
- Identify and resolve network issues, including hardware and software failures
- Troubleshoot network problems and outages, including routing and switching issues
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex network problems
- Implement network changes, upgrades, and configurations
- Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and procedures
- Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures
- Participate in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 network support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a network operations center environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN
- Experience with monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, and Wireshark
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and be on-call for network emergencies
