As a museum guide, you'll be responsible for leading visitors through the exhibits and galleries, providing them with historical and cultural context, and answering any questions they may have. Responsibilities:
- Conduct guided tours of the museum for visitors
- Provide visitors with information about the museum's exhibits and artifacts
- Answer visitors' questions about the museum and its collections
- Ensure the safety and security of visitors and museum property
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the museum's public spaces
- Stay informed about current and upcoming exhibits and events at the museum
- Collaborate with other museum staff to develop educational programs and materials
- Handle cash and credit card transactions for admission fees and gift shop purchases
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with visitors from diverse backgrounds
- In-depth knowledge of museum exhibits and ability to provide insightful information to visitors
- Ability to lead tours and manage groups of visitors of varying sizes and ages
- Fluency in at least one foreign language to cater to international visitors
- Flexibility to work on weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
- Strong customer service skills to ensure visitors have a positive experience
- Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner
- Experience in public speaking and/or teaching is a plus
