A Millwright Apprentice assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery under the guidance of seasoned Millwrights. Responsibilities include learning technical blueprints, handling tools, and performing routine checks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist millwrights in the installation, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Use hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble machinery
- Inspect and test machinery to diagnose issues and troubleshoot problems
- Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Attend on-the-job training and complete required coursework to become a certified millwright
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a millwright pre-apprenticeship program is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools for the assembly and maintenance of machinery
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and regulations.
